Meet Mike –

With over 16 years of senior leadership experience in security and data behaviours, including his role as Head of Security and Data Behaviours at BT Group Plc, Mike brings a unique blend of ethical hacking expertise, behavioural psychology, and people-first security education to Assured Consultancy Services.
He is widely recognised as an industry authority in social engineering, insider threat, cyber psychology, and security culture. His expertise is supported by over 24 years of experience in behavioural psychology, including influence, behavioural profiling, body language analysis, and cyber psychology.
Mike is passionate about making security and data education practical, engaging, and genuinely impactful. His seminars and workshops draw from real-world experience in ethical hacking, social engineering, insider threat, and compliance challenges, helping individuals and organisations recognise risk, change behaviours, and play their part in protecting data.
Additionally, Mike is CIPP/E trained and holds qualifications as a hypnotherapist and cognitive behavioural therapist. He has been sought after for his insight by governments, security services, and NATO, and has received multiple industry accolades, including the PICCASO Privacy Award for Best Educator, ICO recognition for Best Educator and Best Culture Initiative, and the Business Culture Awards for Best Culture and Education Team.
At Assured Consultancy Services, Mike helps clients build stronger, smarter, and more resilient cultures by turning security and data protection into something people understand, believe in, and practise every day
